Plainfield EMA presents 2010 Severe Weather Seminar

The Plainfield Emergency Management Agency will be hosting a Severe Weather Seminar on Saturday February 20, 2010 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at
Plainfield East High School, 12001
Plainfield Naperville Road in Plainfield. There will be an Incident Command Vehicle display, vendor tables, and speakers to include Jim Allsopp and Gino Izzi from the National Weather Service, Paul Sirvatka from the College of DuPage and the keynote speaker will be Amy Freeze from Fox Chicago. Admission is free and all attendees will be trained as Severe Weather Spotters. Tickets are required for entry to the auditorium. Tickets can be reserved by contacting Cmdr. What is the Plainfield EMA?
| The Plainfield Emergency Management Agency, or PEMA, is a volunteer organization tasked with the responsibility of providing emergency services in the event of a disaster in the Village of Plainfield. PEMA has a dedicated Search and Rescue team and trained weather spotters on staff. PEMA also provides services that assist the Plainfield Police Department and Plainfield Fire Protection District such as traffic control, special event details and public awareness and training events. |
Our Mission Statement
| The members of the Plainfield Emergency Management Agency shall provide the services necessary to assist at all disasters and large-scale emergencies involving the Plainfield community. They will ensure that these incidents are resolved with the utmost efficiency, professionalism, and regard for human life. They will ensure that all citizens of the community are treated with compassion and dignity at all times. They will be available before, during, and after a major incident to provide support and guidance to those in need. |
